The Review: This CD was recorded after a US tour in 2002 when Väsen decided to tour as their original 3-piece line up. They had wanted to revisit some of their older pre-quartet material and during rehearsals found that they had a wealth of new compositions between them waiting to be arranged. This formed the basis of their tour set, which was so well received that this recording was the next obvious step.

The music on 'Trio' exemplifies their solidity as a trio, massively inventive arrangements straddling classical, folk and contemporary ideas with ease, while firmly placing each member as an exceptional composer / arranger in his own right.

This enhanced CD includes 2 videos of live 'Trio' at the 2002 Nordic Roots Festival in Minneapolis and more information about Väsen.
