Short description:

The Review: Multi-instrumentalist Ale Möller is one of the central forces in the search for new means of expression in Swedish folkmusic. He is also a prolific writer for film and theatre. In 1995 his music for the theatre-concert Hästen och Tranan (The Horse and the Crane) attracted much attention. A play based on Swedish writer Sara Lidman's novelsuite about the railway's extension through northern Sweden. This solo album consists mainly of the music from the play. This is new music but it is also music within a tradition. New Swedish folkmusic. Above all it is great listening music. Ale Möller flutes, octave-mandolin, hammered dulcimer, shawm, lute, harp, percussion, Roger Tallroth guitar, octave-mandolin, Lena Willemark vocal, fiddle, flute, Ellika Frisell fiddles and Olle Steinholz double-bass.
