Short description:

The Review: Boda, a small village in Sweden has long had a strong tradition of it's own music and dancing, as celebrated by the Giga CD66 with Jonas Brandin, Erik Berg and Hadrian Prett. This CD commemorates Boda Spelmanslag's 50th anniversary. Apparently after a royal visit in 1953, the fiddlers of Boda decided to start their own Spelmanslag, having previously played as part of the Rättvik Spelmanslag. A new era in Boda music was born and from a 16-strong fiddler core (where no accordionists were allowed) it is today 30-strong and includes accordion, cittern, guitar, mouth organ and ofcourse fiddle. There is a great warmth and gentleness within the music but still retains great drive for dancing. There is nothing quite like the Boda Spelmanslag soaring fiddles to get everyone dancing!
