Euria Teresa Zabalza Quintet Label: Errabal CD No. ER004 2005 £12.99 Band from: Spain Genre: Jazz
Review
This group is a group in the best sense of the word. In which Teresa feels utterly at home without ever needing to shout. A tenuous sense of melancholy impregnates the entire album. Euria is the culmination of a myriad of influences, such as Reid Anderson, Knut Rosewinkle and the Bloomdaddies. Nostalgia, childhood memories, and a good dose of irony, always with a hint of fantasy. Half-whispered conclusions and murmuered invitations to wander around the back-streets of our own personal recollections. These musicians have definitely found their own, unique voice.
